It seems like the world has come to a halt. Still, the heart races faster than it ever did. The uncertainty, the blurred visions, and the overall chaos – this is clearly not the life one had planned to live.
They say that happiness is a state of mind. Though, it is they, who have always taught us to go out, mingle and socialize in order to maintain a happy life.
Somehow, last year, when we all were first introduced to “quarantine”, we were feeling a little balmy in our hearts. It all came to us, as a forceful opportunity to be present, look around, and slow down. And most of us availed ourselves of the simple pleasures we could afford during that time.
Today, however, everyone feels that there is a desperate need to keep moving more than ever, so that everyone can keep up with the rushing time.
The question is whether the time is really rushing after all. Well, no. The time does not need to rush, nor slow down for anyone. It is going on at its usual pace. Although, the people have now understood the merits behind it, and the importance of living before dying. The uncertainty of this life is now a big paramount for everyone. And so, naturally, everyone wants to live now, more than ever.
The only problem with this regard is, similar to the pre pandemic era, where everyone would wait for the weekend, or the yearly summer break to live their best lives, nowadays, they all are waiting for the pandemic to end, so that they can make the best out of their lives. The illusion of living the best life being proportionate with physical socializing has been so engraved in everyone’s mind, that one cannot acknowledge, that we are still existing, and for a good reason.
What needs to be understood here, is the fact that life is still happening, the clock is still ticking, the “going out” may have stopped, but time itself has not.
Over the many periods, various difficulties that we have conquered, one thing has remained constant, and that is, our ability to gradually adapt to our circumstances. That is the sole reason, why we have evolved with time, and have been able to go hand in hand with constant changes and advancements.
Probably, that is the only aspect of “this” time, that we are not able to understand. And I am not talking about the mankind as a whole, I am addressing each one of you. Everyone, who is feeling miserable due to the constant nature of their dens, the immovable furniture, the desk space, the lack of physical touches, embraces, and the loud noises that emphasize the aliveness of this world.
Every single one of you, can embrace this uncertainty, and trust me, that is the only way, how we can still catch up with your life. Because, if you think about it, pandemic or not, what is more uncertain in this whole wide world, than life itself.
